Nestled on the outskirts of Bastrop, Texas, Casa Correa was conceived for a multigenerational family seeking to live together while preserving the privacy and independence of each household member. Spanning over 4,000 square feet, the residence is a thoughtful dialogue between architecture, climate, and everyday living.

Approaching from the west, visitors are welcomed by a rooftop garden planted with native, drought-tolerant species. Beyond creating a memorable arrival, this green roof provides natural shading to the main entrance, mitigating the intense Texas afternoon sun while reinforcing the home's connection to its landscape.

Inside, the residence opens into a dramatic double-height living space where natural light continuously transforms the atmosphere throughout the day. A sculptural staircase anchors the interior, leading to the private family quarters above. To the south, deeply recessed floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding landscape while employing passive bioclimatic design strategies that minimize solar heat gain and maximize year-round comfort.

At the heart of the home, a central fireplace creates a warm gathering place while subtly defining the living room and formal dining area. Beyond, layered ceiling planes highlight an expansive kitchen centered around dual islands designed for cooking, entertaining, and family interaction. A separate pantry and laundry room ensure functional efficiency, while generous openings connect the interior to a covered terrace and backyard, extending daily life into the outdoors.
